Description
Last time here on DA were a lot of gorgeous shots of Huskys. That reminded me on a very special time in my life:I work for a a cat-aid organisation. This organisation has a cat shelter but it also have families who care for abandoned or motherless kitten. Here they can raise in family atmosphere to become social and beloved cats. I was called for a shooting on such family and what I could see there was gorgeous: At this family kitten were raised with a Husky-pride. It were around 8 dogs and some kitten. Every dog loves the kitten to death and took care of them. You really have to be careful not to grab at the kitten too fast
Interesting to see was, that the kitten raise bilingual which means that they were able to communicate with dogs and cats. They behave a lot like dogs (flutter their tail when they were happy for example). So every kitten was able to go to a family with dogs (only if the dog dies not see a cat as prey of course) without any problems. So I think we as humans can learn a lot of them cause I think a lot of problems we have is a problem of bad communication as well and I think if even cats and dogs can be friends, it should be possible for us too

first of all, great shot, secondly, your story reminds me of one of my own that i feel like sharing with you now ... quite a few years back when i was a little girl, I lived on a dairy farm in North Dakota, we had lots and lots of cats running around, and we had one dog, an austrailian shepherd border collie mix who was a few years old at the time. Winters in ND are pretty harsh, lots of snow and cold and they seem to last forever. So naturally in spring when everything starts having babies its still cold as hell. I always worried about the kittens and my dog when we had to go in for the night, but my parents always assured me that they could get in the barn and that it was plenty warm in there for them. well this particular winter/spring one of our younger cats gave birth to 2 tiny kittens way early. no one else had kittened out yet so we couldnt stick them with another batch and their mother seemed to always forget about them. so we go in after chores one night, and the next morning after an extremely cold night we walk outside to see my dog laying in the middle of the driveway. at first i thought she was frozen, but when she heard us she lifted her head and when she stood up 2 tiny kittens fell off onto the driveway. they kittens had been in an inside room of the barn only accessable to cats or other animals able to climb, so i 'm not real sure how they got out there. now here is the unbelievable part: they were nursing on her. and she was producing milk. and she had never had puppies. i dont know how it was possible and i wouldnt believe it if i hadnt seen it with my own eyes. but she continued nursing these two kittens until they got bigger and could eat on their own.

i'm glad you liked it she was a truely amazing dog. she lived to be 15 years old and she was my best friend. never had to be trained, and seemed to understand every word that was spoken to her... so yeah... i totally agree about the animals being better than humans thing. i hope you have a wonderful day

That's a fascinating observation of animal behaviour.
I didn't think animals were capable of learning the language of another species. but as you said, the kittens learn the language of the dogs, so it must be possible.
Amazing. :0
Beautiful picture too, the husky looks so gentle and affectionate towards those little kittens, brilliant. <3

Awww! :3 That is so cute, something you don't see everyday. I love how the husky is nuzzling the one kitten, but the other one is "exploring" him xD
