Last time here on DA were a lot of gorgeous shots of Huskys. That reminded me on a very special time in my life:I work for a a cat-aid organisation. This organisation has a cat shelter but it also have families who care for abandoned or motherless kitten. Here they can raise in family atmosphere to become social and beloved cats. I was called for a shooting on such family and what I could see there was gorgeous: At this family kitten were raised with a Husky-pride. It were around 8 dogs and some kitten. Every dog loves the kitten to death and took care of them. You really have to be careful not to grab at the kitten too fast
That was so heart-warming and heart melting and fascinating. A very special moment in my life, cause I usually have a soft spot for cats but at that moment I got a spot for Huskys as well. Very special dogs...Interesting to see was, that the kitten raise bilingual which means that they were able to communicate with dogs and cats. They behave a lot like dogs (flutter their tail when they were happy for example). So every kitten was able to go to a family with dogs (only if the dog dies not see a cat as prey of course) without any problems. So I think we as humans can learn a lot of them cause I think a lot of problems we have is a problem of bad communication as well and I think if even cats and dogs can be friends, it should be possible for us too

It's so beautiful when dogs and cats can get along. My big dog would cuddle with my old cat sometimes in the winter. The weenie wasn't a fan, of course, but he didn't really interact with the cat much until he was already old and crazy.

Als unsere Katzendame kleine Kitten hatte, hat unser Hund auch auf die kleinen aufgepasst wenn die Mama mal wieder im Garten rumstreunern war 
Aber es hat mir bewiesen, dass selbst die seit Jahrhunderten verschrieenen Erzfeinde Freunde werden kΓΆnnen. Wir Menschen kΓΆnnen uns noch soviel von den Tieren abgucken!

I have a dalmatian and a cat. We got the cat as a kitten, and while our dog was EXTREMELY jealous at first, they both love each other very much. Our cat was even willing to stand up to a great dane for our dog!

I agree that dogs and cats can be friends; I have two cats who are named Crystal and Alec, who are from the same litter which we got from a friend who has an incredible amount of cat in one house and she also has a female Boxer named Roxy she is very sweet to the cats and kittens there. Then we have one dog named Buddy his name suits him well because he is friendly to everyone and acts like he is a week old puppy he is hilarious and so cute, and is a Siberian Husky mixed with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (he is an odd but cute mix. They get along really well too. Funny part is that Alec thinks he is a dog, he even likes belly rubs like dogs and cant really meow, I think it is cute others say is weird but I love all three of our pets so I don't mind at all.

Adorable. My dogs and cats do that too! One of them sleeps on the tail of the German shepherd dog we have, always, and he never gets up until the cat has slept enough.

I agree on communication. I have constantly stressed that to my husband as we are newly married and he wasn't raised around animals. I myself have a husky, lab/rottie mix, and a new kitten. They are still working on being gentle, but they understand the kitty is part of the pack now and is not to be hurt or tampered with. My husband is amazed at the connections and bonds animals make with each other, as well as people like myself and you who are open to them. So much can be learned from these little creations.

We had the same situation here
During the winter, a few of our cats would lie on top of our dog as a fluffy warm blanket lmao
Whenever the cats got hurt, or sick, Phoenix would lick them, and their wounds, clean every day lmao Even when she got really old and arthritic, and just couldn't get around much, if a cat had a wound, we would corner it and take it over to Mama Phoenix to lick clean lmao
