I think a lot of you guessed right
The best way to get over a loss is to surround you with friends. I decided to give a new friend a good home and she will help me
I do not see her as as a "replacement" for Herr Hildezart (They look similar but they are SO different, that was clear from the first day
) that would not be fair and it is impossible to replace a "person" even if it is just a hamster. We have this huge cage with all the toys, wheels, houses and stuff. Not to forget a huge ammount of love we have to give so the box is opened and inside is a wonderful and cute little hamster girl (we suppose it is a girl but at this age it is not sure...) She is nameless yet but we are searching for a big name for this small lady

You're right, it's impossible to replace family members. You can fill the void that a late family member left behind them, but that furry family member will always have its individual little place in your heart. And of course, our sweet Herr Hildezart would most certainly want another hamster to benefit from the same love and affection he did. I'm sure he'd approve and be happy for you and that nameless hamster girl.

AAAWWWWWWWWWWNNNN!!! *O*... i used to have female hamsters a looog time ago, (Livaz the first, who left me and we never know where she went... and Devi(l), the most coward hamster in the world), and they are pretty different!!! even if they look almost the same!

I never had a hamster but I did have a guinea pig for eight years. It was very painful to say goodbye to her when she passed.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Herr Hildezart. He was a precious hamster. I lost a dear hamster friend a few years ago, and it broke my heart. I'm glad to hear that Herr Hildezart died peacefully, I wish the same could be said for my hamster. Meister (that's his name) died due to a tooth growing out of control and caused him not to be able to eat. 
Congratulations on your new hamster! I hope she brings lots of joy into your life and lots of photo opportunities as well! She looks like a "Ginger" or a "Misty" to me!
