Biography:
Born in the same hospital on the same day as Uta Kageura, her childhood friend. Their parents were a group of 4 best friends from high school, such good friends that they all decided to keep each other a part of their lives by buying a house together in the small but trendy suburb of Shimokitazawa. They renovated to split the house into 2 connected but identical houses and raised their children together. Because of this, Uta and Kanon feel as though they are more like siblings and are always in a ‘sibling rivalry’ state of one upping each other. Kanon’s mother Kyoko is a ballet dance teacher who’s quite strict wanting her only daughter to be like herself she gave her the name ‘Kanon’ hoping she’d end up a dancer or musician. Sadly from an early age it was evident she took after her father Masato, a money hungry business man who did the finances for not just his family but his best friends family (honestly they were only all allowed to buy a nice house together thanks to his great affiliation with money and success).
Kanon has been the same since she was a child, smart beyond her years and cut throat. Kindergarten was her first brush with business, where she took gacha toys and repriced them to sell to the other kids. It was very successful and her father encouraged this behaviour much to her mother’s chagrin. When she lacked funds for things she wanted she would either sell Uta’s stuff or come up with schemes to use him to make money. She knew no matter what she did Uta would always forgive her so she kept doing it until it got out of hand when she tried to sell him. Within recent years she’s toned it down slightly.
She did ballet with Uta for a few years under her mother’s tutelage but quit classes because Uta kept stealing her tutus so he could wear them to class. Instead she took up karate although now and then she’d still do private ballet lessons with her mother. She never really knew what to do with her life other than bathe in money and success and ended up being goaded by her mother into following Uta to a music and arts excellence high school. Both she and Uta were in the dance section but where Uta topped dance class she topped all the academic aspects. After high school they ended up going to the same university, Uta majoring in dance and Kanon majoring in accounting/business since she wasn’t sure exactly what she wanted to do.
One day while she and Uta were hanging out in Shibuya, Kanon saw an ad on the screen at the Shibuya cross walk advertising a new idol group. Nonchalantly she said “instead of being a dancer, why don’t you become an idol with your slightly above average looks, voice and not to mention you’re inhuman dancing, you’d make way more money…and I could totally make money off that”. What was partly a joke to her sounded like a good idea when she thought it over, she could make money off that. And not just a little bit, she could be filthy rich! She already had the connections through Uta’s father Toshinobu, a retired producer all she had to do was ask him. When she did he laughed saying that Uta was also trying to get into the idol business and he set her up with the same connections to get a job at 346pro.
She ended up landing the job and is still studying her final year at university part time while working as a producer. She’s inexperience but she’s willing to work hard using whatever methods to get rich.
