For 's contest 'Calling all Angels' www.deviantart.com/nitchwarmer…As soon as I decided to participate, I kind of immediately had the concept I wanted to draw.
It's not as pretty as I would hope it'd be, but it is what it is, and well, I don't have much to explain beyond the title of the drawing.
reference model is a stock I've been trying to use for years from www.deviantart.com/m47r1x/art/…
ballpoint pen, and first time finally using acrylic paint because I've been painting a lot and I decided it was about time I'd mix the two together

Nice one! I really like how you combined the ballpoint drawing with acrylic paint. The pose of the character is also very interesting, as are the expression and the wings.

I don't know about other people but I prefer drawings over photomanipulations any day since drawing something from scratch requires more work than cutting some images and then putting them together.
(I know I sound mean but I did photomanipulations as well many years ago while trying to learn Photoshop and that stuff was never that difficult compared to drawing)

I don't enough about photomanipulation to be critical about most of them, but I do know and realize that a lot of work goes into them. But I personally, and obviously, prefer drawing over photomanip any day too

Some are really well made and they turn out to be amazing, that it true, but yeah, I guess I'm more biased towards drawing since to me that always seemed more difficult to master.
