I love Ruth Powers, I wish we could have seen more of her and Laura. I created Travis just because I always found it sad that Laura was a only child (at least of what we knew anyway) so I decided to create a sibling for her. When Ruth and her ex-husband got a divorce, she got Laura and he got Travis.

I like Ruth too. I was beginning to write a story about her that was influenced by the secret life of Walter mittie but I lost all interest in it. So I decided to draw pics of her to show my support for her. 😀

I don't draw many Ruth Powers pictures, but I do love her character a lot. I think it would be great if they would have done a backstory of her life with her husband before she and Laura moved in next to the Simpsons.

That's true, by the way I wanted to tell you if you were interested I am writing a Bart/Laura love story ❤️ It is based on the episode "New Kid on the Block" except in this story Bart and Laura are both 15 years old and Bart is starting his freshman year in High School.
I am currently writing Chapter 1 to the story and should have it up soon. If you would like I could send you the link to it once I have it posted.

Well, if you read my unfinished fan fic, I was going for a first person perspective where Ruth recounts her life and how she ending up where she is now. I was going to have her go on a mountain climbing trip where she is ends up trapped in the Tibetan mountains and is sheltered by monks.

I have the same problem. I start on thing then another idea for something else pops in my head and I start on that before I forget about it and nothing gets finished sadly.
I have been working on trying not to do that anymore though and keeping my focus on things.

I agree I like her overall design because she is so different then the other mothers in Springfield. With the sandals and rag on her head, which makes her stand out in a crowded scene and ease to spot. I wish Pamela Reed would have appeared more on the show. She was fantastic as Ruth!
I loved her in Kindergarten Cop and that famous line she gives: "You're not so tough without your car are you?" 😂 such a hilarious line, after all these years it still makes me laugh.

Ruth is also the kind of woman that anyone can hang out with. If I ever got the chance to meet with her in real life, I would ask her so many questions.

That's true she does seem to be a very kind and caring woman. She is someone that looks like she would be easy to get along with
