About the rule of thirds....[link]

Another shot from that stunner of a sunset on 30 May this year.

4 different RAW conversions blended with various methods.
Once again, this is going to look a bit dull and flat if you're viewing it on an older monitor.

Sigma 10-20mm
Cokin 0.6 soft grad

Na, the colour on this one is perfect! Not dull, it's very vibrant! I compared it to the other one and it's much improved

I also gotta say that wave is at the perfect angle.. it splits up the image nicely and leads the eyes up to the cliffs which are at the same angle.

A+++++

Incredible shot. Of course the scenery is pretty, but the way you made the composition is great. A very good focal point where all lines come together. It's in harmony, technically. Everything seems to support that harmony, the colors, the smoothness of the see, the lighting, but also the picture itselfe: on the one hand it's beautifull, almost a dreamlike goodness that's coming over you... then you realise the dark clouds and the crap that will come over you Harmony of nature, life, your photo. I realy like it alot!

Nice work. You nailed it on the clouds. I just love it when the clouds are 'sharp' and retain their detail. So many images the clouds are secondary to the foreground, but not here, they're just as important and dominant.

very well blended together, 10-15% oversharpen on some areas, other than that it works like a charm.

One of your best shots, Hougaard. Simply amazing. For the sake of perfectionism I would darken and raise the contrast at the bottom just slightly.

Yeah ... it might contain the center a bit better then. But that's just a personal preference.

This is incredible!
I'm glad, this picture ignores the rule of thirds.
The horizon right in the middle works awesome here, together with the mountain reaching exactly to the center of the shot.
The rocks on the bottom deviding the water into half and on top of that all, the clouds and wave bringing some diagonal lines into the pic...
Just a perfect composition...
You are genious!

seriously, i dont even look at most photographs with the rule of thirds clogging op my mind, if it looks good some way, than it looks good that way, no arguing, love the shot (as always)
