Description
My kid brother and my son.Taken quite a while ago now, but I feel ready to share this.
My brother was a very messed up lad, but the one thing that made him smile was being an uncle. The bond he had with my son was a beautiful one.

Aww, that's lovely! Thank you for sharing that!
The little brother and my son definitely had a VERY special bond, unlike one I've seen before. And he really was very proud of being an uncle, even though he was young. He was only 15 when my son was born. And when I told him he was going to be an uncle, he excitedly told just about everyone he knew. People thought it was weird. But he was overjoyed. So, from day one, he was an amazing uncle.

my little brother just turned 10, so I've got a while before I become an uncle but I'm looking forward to passing on everything I learned from my uncle. my uncle has helped me make some of my best memories.

Awww, that is REALLY lovely. I'm really glad that you have such a special bond with your uncle, and plan to act in a way that honours that when YOU become the uncle.

I adore this photo so much.
He was a little freaked out the day I told him he was going to be an uncle, but it didn't take him long to LOVE the idea. He was only 15 at the time. Even before Benjamin was born he was a very proud uncle. ALWAYS asked for updates, looked at all the sonograms, and got excited when baby moved.
He was with me for the last three hours of my labour as well, and somewhere I have a beautiful photo of the two of them, minutes after the birth. Ben had been cleaned and was being checked over, and Richard was with the midwife while she was doing it. The two of them are just STARING at each other, and Richard was quite emotional. It was a special bond from the very start.

It really was. There is a lot from that day that I've forgotten because my labour was LONG and things went a little bit wrong... But THAT moment between my little brother and my new baby is something that will stick with me forever.
And the look on his face when I was nearly 8 months pregnant, and Ben stretched out... He SCREAMED "OMFG!!! That is like something from Aliens... That's messed up... *puts head close to my tummy* Hey, lil buddy... Please don't do that to my big sister. She's weird and all, but you'll learn to love her."

ROFL That's hilarious! I was always afraid of giving birth. ><
Actually, I grew up watching Alien/Aliens/etc and my dad has
threatened me with disownment (my word I made up on the spot) if
I should ever become pregnant before marriage. So my fear of
any of that has basically made it impossible for me to think about
stuff like that until he dies. >>;;
Anyway, I'm so jealous of your happy family.
May you always be blessed with the love of your family and may they
lift you high when the world sinks low~ <3

Awww, don't be afraid of giving birth... It's a long process, and uncomfortable, but it's beautiful, like nothing else. There aren't any words to describe it.
Yeah, I was threatened with being disowned too... And was for a lot of my pregnancy... But, when I showed sonogram images anyway via email, and weekly photos of my growing belly, and updates on the baby, the parents eventually came back to my side... And all was forgiven when they got to hold my little boy for the first time. XD
Don't be jealous, either. It will all happen in time for you.
I am very blessed to have the family that I do, though we have our ups and downs.
You to, m'dear.
xx

I've always loved this photo. So I'm really glad people like it. Even the original is lovely. I've always been fairly private about my family, especially my brother. He and I were incredibly close. I have another photo taken a few moments after this one that is also really sweet. I've just been hesitating somewhat. I might upload it later. Not sure. I want to share the beauty of the uncle/nephew moments... But... They become less personal to me if I do. And photos are all I have left of him, in a materialistic sense. *sigh*

I thought so too.
My brother was never one for photos, and when I got this it was one of those spontaneous photos nobody expected... He heard the shutter and was like "Oh no you didn't". But then I showed him and he loved it.
It's about 19 months ago now that I took it, and it's one of the last photos I got of him. I'm glad it's such a beautiful photo. He was such a proud uncle.
