Description After creating this wallpaper with the classic Apple Logo, I decided to add the NeXT logo to see how it would look. In a lot of ways, Apple's acquisition of NeXT in 1996 was a reverse acquisition since Apple incorporated NeXT technology into Mac OS. Today, every Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV run on an OS that has its roots in the software developed at NeXT.

I wish I could get my hands on NeXTStep or an actual NeXT computer. I played with one many years ago, and I had a job where I used OpenStep a few years before Apple bought NeXT, and subsequently created OS X from all of that great NeXT technology.

Same! A NeXTCUBE is one of my vintage computer "holy grails". Unfortunately I've only ever seen a few for sale locally, and they've generally been either too expensive for me to afford, or in an advanced state of disrepair ...
