I got the idea for this picture while listening to Fire and Ice by Olivia Bray (www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5_CIf… )
My boyfriend loves deer and I have always been fascinated by wolves. We come from very different places and yet we just seem to fit.
Below is a story I wrote to go along with it. It could use a little work X3

It was all by chance.

For so long she had known no other presence than her own. The heat of her footfalls and the charring of the earth around her become all too familiar. Every time she dare, out of sheer curiosity, venture towards another, they would flee in terror, try their best to douse her flames. And so she lived in fear, of others, of her own fiery vestige. And yet, she desired nothing more than companionship. Her ever flaring heart cried out its hollowed song, lighting up the darkness of the forest far brighter than her own entity.

The day was always cold for him. Crackling in the shadows of the forest he moved, longing for something. His icy body, ever so cold, chilled him to the core. He was missing something. Deep inside that there was something more. And yet, it was so hard for him to feel. To feel anything. Except the nagging sensation that kept him moving onward, never stopping, always looking. The incompleteness of his life was unbearable. He bellowed lowly, wondering if he'd ever learn. Trying to summon up the gravest part of him to bring forth the knowledge of the missing.

And then he heard her song.

The cold billowed off his form with an icy blast. For the first time in her life she felt chilled. Surprised, she glanced and saw the wintry beast, staring at her from across the woods. Instantly, she was mesmerized by the brilliant creature from another world. She turned to run, to dart for the nearest cover, expecting the violence she was so accustom to. But he only watched intently, a cool mist billowing from his nostrils. Antlers glittering brightly, reflecting her light. She found herself drawing nearer, heart thumping endlessly.

This. Her. She was what he had been missing. He could feel it. He could feel her. For the first time in his life he knew. The aching he felt was sooth by the power of her flames. The burning of her soul aroused the soul that had been buried for so long. She was insanely beautiful and he longed for her to draw near. Afraid she was only a dream and if he took a step forward, she would disappear.

She cautiously approached.

She could feel the cold of his presence and she longed to know it more. For it to still the burning she constantly felt. And for once he knew the power of warmth. As they stared into each others eyes, she feared she'd cause him to melt and likewise he feared he'd end her. But the power between them was far stronger than the fear. And they knew, that if they didn't dare this chance, they would forever spend their lives in agony and crippling loneliness. If they perished in the aftermath, at least they knew, even if only for a moment, each other's worlds.

He reached towards her.

Lowering his head and stretching his neck, the light of his eyes dancing with pleading. Before she had time to think, she reacted, reaching up, she touched her nose to his. The hiss of steam filled the forest, rolled across the land, clouding both their sights. But alas, when the steam cleared, both stood whole. Her heart swelled with a cooling breeze she had never felt before and his overflowed with the warmth she produced. A look of shock entered her burning eyes as he just coyly smiled. Above them the steam faded into the woods around them, a heart left in its wake.

And in that moment of time, they learned.

In a world that had never accepted either of them, in each other, they found what they both desired.

Two different creatures.

Deer and Wolf.

Fire and Ice.
