Description Neither could really say where one ended and the other began.

Claude Frollo and Esmeralda. Yin and Yang. Dare to look them in the eyes and say otherwise.

Black pen and felt-tipped pen.

Please comment! It really, really makes my day if you do.

My favourite thing to do is black line work, this is just great.
Yin and yang; great concept.
Love it!

Thank you! The crisp, austere style does appeal to me, and I have a few more ideas I'm going to try out in that style.

I love the way you've used those planes in Frollo's face--they look like cliffs!--and the way Esme's hair swirls like smoke. This is jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

hey babe! Thanks for the comment and the kind words! Frollo's cheekbones are just such a joy to draw.

I just totally realized I zoned out on our writing project. *for shame* ( it's still very much gently simmering in my mind though!)

Forgive me? My writing muse has been awfully, awfully quiet lately. I really want to do this however, but I need to get TN out of the way and it's proving.....difficult to say the least. Any pointers for a stuck girl?

That being said, how's life treating you? Back to school?

*Hugs*

Don't worry about it! I've been swamped myself. As you guessed, I'm back in school. Hard to imagine that, crazy as it is now, I'm going to be exactly five times as busy in a month, when things really start chugging along. I've barely been able to keep TC going.

If you're like me, the best way to get inspired is to get too busy. Overwhelm yourself with additional work, until you can't stand it. Then you'll start stealing time for daydreams and brainstorming, and you won't have time to censor yourself or even think about writer's block! But that's just me. I'm sort of a spastic workaholic. I get depressed and blocked if I don't have enough to do.

Ah, that's were the lovely world of fanfiction and fanart steps in. The key word for me is "Plausibility". But you can go anywhere with it, anywhere your imagination takes you, just as long as you're having fun with it!

I'll never get tired of drawing her thick, curly hair! (And his thin, sharp cheekbones, I adore those too...)

Thanks for commenting, Quotidia! How's your art-work going these days?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quotidia In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-09-06 10:07:33 +0000 UTC]

Going slowly. A huge backlog of pencil work to ink and colour. So much Disney . It's a disease.

Howlingmojo In reply to quotidia [2011-09-06 11:02:42 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, I look forward to that! I have the same thing here, plenty of half-finished pencil and ink works. When the muse is pushy, I just have to push all things aside and start something new...But sooner or later it all gets done! (And I get to look productive, win/win!)

I am a very lazy artist...or maybe 'fussy' is a better description. I'm not prolific but I finish what I start EVENTUALLY. But when my mood swings I am a rampant sketcher. I have a million ideas but only 1% ever hits paper.

Howlingmojo In reply to quotidia [2011-09-07 23:41:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that sounds familiar. I am so "Captain Half-finished"if you know what I mean. I am always eager to start something new, so the older stuff kind of gets shuffled to the bottom of the "To do" pile.

Claude Frollo's cheekbones are sometimes the reason I get out of bed at all (just kidding, but they are the best! )I just love angular faces.

Creepy ? The concept of those two together you mean? Or the haunted eyes that follow you everywhere?

Thank you so much for your comment! This means a lot to me!

earth-angel13 In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-09-06 10:54:38 +0000 UTC]

Them together, I mean. Poor Phoebus. ALL ALONE (Not for long, HERE I COME)
EHEE BUT I MEAN IT. This is SUPER beautifully drawn, I was just looking at it, and I was like, "WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW"
It's WONDERFUL

Howlingmojo In reply to earth-angel13 [2011-09-06 11:00:53 +0000 UTC]

Haha, you can go right ahead with Phoebus, I can live with that

I always kind of blend book! HoND and Disney! HoND together, it makes it easier to "Flesh out" the characters so to say. Book! Frollo is a wonderful anti-hero, not a villain at all. I still firmly stand my by belief that those two could and would work well together, if they could stop shouting at each other long enough to actually listen

And book!Phoebus btw, is one of the biggest creeps in literary history. Engaged to be married, he only wants to get into Esme's skirts because he wants to be the first, so to speak. Disney!Phoebus is a big improvement, I'll give you that

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. ARE YOU KIDDIIIING ?
Phoebus. BAD PHOEBUS.
Ehee WELL. IF WE ARE GOING ACCORDING TO THE BOOK, GOOO FROOLLLOOO.
Oogh. Phoebus, what HAVE you done ?
Ehee BUT I DO LOVE DISNEY PHOEBUS.

Howlingmojo In reply to earth-angel13 [2011-09-07 16:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Nope, not kidding. Also very striking to read how he is the only one to survive in the book, though he survives to be unhappily married for a looooooong time. Serves him right!

Frollo's declarations of love have to be the most desperately romantic things I have read in my life...
