Ace felt chills running down his back as he stared at the large, pure white wolf with eyes that glowed a beautiful (e/c). He never felt that feeling since he saw his little brother was almost been mauled by a large black bear. Ace stared at the white wolf longer, though it felt like that its eyes are staring hard into his soul, piercing his mind to make him feel...fear?

No, he couldn't be afraid of this wolf, he saw lots of wolves before in his life. He was never afraid of them, though this one...this one felt different from the others. A twig snaps throughout the silent, snowy woods which made their little staring contest stop. The white wolf snapped its head towards the noise, ears perked up and the (e/c) eyes narrowed.

Slowly the wolf stood making Ace jaw drop, his eyes widen and his breathing quicken at the sight before him. It stood three inches taller above his head, he couldn't move, he couldn't yell for help. Though it didn't charge at him instead the wolf ran off quickly, Ace regained himself and his breathing.

Ace cursed silently under his breath, no food today again. Great, just beautifully great,

"Ace! Ace!" He heard his name being called by his little brother, Luffy. He turned around to see his brothers running towards him, Ace softly sighed and instantly started feeling like crap.

"Do you successfully get anything this time?" Sabo asked as he held Luffys shoulders, Ace sadly shook his head. It was harder to hunt at winter than at spring,

"I was almost close at getting a wolf but..." Ace quieted, making Sabo raise an eyebrow at him confusingly

"But what? Ace, did something wrong happened?" Sabo asked

"No, it's just a twig snapped which made the wolf book it before I could take it down." Ace lied, no way in hell he was gonna say that the wolf scared the living daylights out of him and he couldn't move.

"Ah, that's ok, we'll try again later. Right now, let's get back inside before we freeze to death or get mauled by any other animals." Which made Ace and Luffy nod in confirmation to Sabo statement,

Somewhere the large, white wolf listen and watched the brothers walk back to their wooden cabin for warmth. It got up and ran to hunt down a moose and a deer for the boys. The feeling inside of the wolfs chest tighten when thinking about the death of the boy, it gotten to liken.

The wolf wasn't going to let him nor his two brothers die, she is going to protect them even if it takes their life away. It will give the boys a feeling they were protected well and greatly by them, though it is no easy task for the wolf. Wolves are mistaken alot for being evil and aggressive creatures to the community even though they're peaceful and barely harsh.

It takes a lot of trust and bonding to gain respect from protecting a human or the woods. Boy, does this large, white wolf has a long way to go and have a very heavy duty upon its shoulders, though they're ready for anything to be thrown at them in the future.
