A brand new look is coming to the News page .
- From the Journal portal, which will be replacing the News page, you'll be able to browse, submit, or search journals and news. You'll be able to browse by Newest, Popular, and Featured (which is comprised of official deviantART news and highlights).
- Journals will be visible with their skin, giving you a better context of the post.

As you may recall, we teased the release of merging news, journals, blogs, and deviations in order to create a unified submission process . This means journals, blogs, and news will receive a load of awesome benefits that only deviations currently have, including:
- Being able to
journals
- Hiding journals from non-deviants
- Share settings
- Storage
- Blog searching
- Comment disabling on group blogs
- Journal :thumb: codes
The aim of this upgrade is to unify all these systems, making them simpler to use and more consistent in appearance and functionality. As news, journals, and group blogs become one, they will all be found in the News section shown above. The News page will have an improved look and feel, and provide you an easy way to search and browse through journals, blogs, and news all in one place!
But this looks a lot like the Today page!Where the new News page and the Today page differ is that Today only shows the most popular journals, whereas the upgraded News page sorts journals by recent, popular, and featured. Both will still live, but we're taking the best bits and pieces from Today and adding them to the News page.

I liked journals they way they were, honestly this is pointless. Does this mean our private journals will become public? unacceptable. Some people write about private things related to their art. Not a good upgrade DA more like a social networking Downgrade.

I hate this. Honestly, it's horrible. I don't want my journals advertised like this, I liked the old set up, and this set up ruins everything I liked about journals. What next, polls that people can fav? Stupid. I'm so disappointed in you, DA.

I saw new update on my journals, I was shocked. But I don't like it. I don't like new update DeviantArt. I miss my old journal layout. I wish my old journal layout are back.

I never thought I will be so disappointed. The first page of Da now is full of craps. Any sexy, any crap, any shit is there posted like NEWS! We have to browse millions of craps to actually see something?
And where are all the good news articles? I´ve wrote some in the last 6 months and they just vanished!
You made an inutile change. You could add a new category for journals with the same characteristics as the old news and let the deviants who loved news to search for news and those who love journals to search for journals. Or both of them, as everyone would have desired.
Also, on my profile appears that I´ve faved news that, in fact, are deviations from my watchers. What is this crap? I want my activity hidden, not revealed on the first page.
If this madness will go on I will no longer buy a new membership. And one more change like that will close many many profiles here. Believe me. Mine included.
If you care about the community you should ask the community opinion first. Then apply a change as the majority voted.

I really hope so! I mean... for example, group journals. They're group journals, we want it to only stay among the group, and it's not really something to be advertised. In fact, any journal isn't something just to be advertised to the rest of the site.
Not to mention, we can't edit anymore! What's up with that?!

If you have the past journal widget, you click on the journal you wish to update and there should be an edit button underneath the journal. It'll also be on the right, like with deviations when you want to fave/edit them

Okay, here are the steps you need to take to get there. Go to your journal page. Underneath your Gallery/Prints/etc bar, there should be 3 options to choose from. Pick Edit Journal Entries if you have it. If not, then I don't know what else you can do. Hopefully someone will be able to answer your question if this way doesn't work

There is no "Past Journal" widget that I can see. Does it go by a different name? Our group is having trouble as well and can't edit/remove journals.

I don't know what the widget is called exactly, but its a history of your previous journals and you can have up to 20 showing. I don't own a group, so I can't test that, but I know you can edit your own journal

Looks like there isn't one for groups in particular... and where the "edit journal" button should be is "Add to Favorites" instead.
