I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I'm sure (most) kids wouldn't see the similarities, and maybe it's just a coincidence. After all, there weren't any tentacle monsters (or tentacles in general) involved in that scene.

It is bad, yes, and having grown up on this show myself, I always liked it. But now, being older, I catch some references that I didn't understand at a younger age. They put references in to amuse adults that have to watch the show with their little ones, I guess.
