Oh man, I forgot to comment on this... and I even showed it to my brother because I liked it so much
He's a bit picky about being correct to the official style of the character, but I really like the personal feel that the characters each have
I also just love the colors in this art work
especially the rays of light from the sun
are especially beautiful

Thank you! I had the same thought process when I was much younger to make the characters look exactly like their official designs until I began to develop my own.
Unfortunately the contest ended about two-three days ago where they voted for the winning fanart. Out of all 200 submissions I got to the top 10. I didn´t win however. That honor goes to UNIesque www.deviantart.com/art/Final-S…

I have the demo and I gotta say that Link got quite some nice buffs for smash, im not sure if the same buffs will apply to toon link, but overral this looks like the mst balanced smash bros yet.
They gave link a jump slash when you dash attack, it does some pretty good damage too.
