It is always better to float than tread water.Β One is effortless, the other can be exhausting.
She has that serene look, with the slightly down turned lips showing just a hint of concentration about something minor and soon to be set aside, that comes when things are finally falling into place after a time of chaos and stress.Β
And I just realized I was projecting what I'm feeling right now into your works again Β You always manage to hit the mark with that somehow
As Haymunk commented the image is bright with vibrant colors.Β Looks like a spring morning,
Β Maybe the weapons are part of that "minor something" that seems to be crossing her mind, maybe something she heard on the news, soon to fade away leaving only a perfect, tranquil moment.
Or maybe the cat just pushed them off the window sill above as cats do form time to time Β I hope there isn't a round chambered, though modern 1911s have a fire pin safety for cases like this.

Dude your interpretations of my work are far better than what I have in mind while making them to be very honest hahahaΒ
Thanks for the words!

The best artists create from their soul, not their minds, and leaves the "deep interpretation" to the viewers and art critics (who often will not "get it" by the way).
One of the things I've noticed about your works is they are "open".Β By that I mean that every person who looks at your work can always put themselves into it, they can see a reflection of moments in their own lives and those memories can affect how they perceive it, what it says to them and how it is saying it.Β And it is going to depend a bunch on how they are feeling at the moment they first see it.Β
Every one of your works so far I have been able to get into, from "Suprise" (still a favorite) to "Lost" and all the rest, in each of them I can hear a melody of emotion, each one of them evokes feelings that range from simple mirth ("Suprise" again), to the feeling of being lost after the passing of one's mother (and best friend) that I found in the appropriately namedΒ "lost",Β to childhood memories of walking to the town store in my the small mid Western farm town my Grandmother lived in so many, many years ago (Unwind).

I'm glad I can make at least one person identify with my work and recall past moments in their lives because of it. That is perhaps the ultimate objective of myself as an artist... Thank you again for your kind words, always a pleasure to read your interpretations <3

Very cute, but I'm seriously puzzled. Mostly about the reason why there would be a balisong knife and a m1911 floating next to her. I mean it's quite contrary to the very innocent-looking girl and the light, peaceful colors.
I was actually hoping that when I come home from school I don't have to do any more interpretating, but you shattered my dreams x_x xD

Don't worry, it doesn't have any meaning, I just like these 2 weapons a lot hahaha

Do I get bonus points for being able to use google too? If so movie is Big Chill. If not.. I've never heard of it, especially considering it was over 10 years before I was even born.

Well, normally I wouldn't give credit for using google but since I didn't explicitly say you couldn't ...
You get a Gold star!Β
Ah, kids these days, no appreciation of the Classics.Β I bet you haven't even seen the original Terminator have you?

Can I buy an Abra if I get 179 more gold stars?
I have seen Terminator.. Just like Pulp Fiction, The Shining, Forrest Gump etc. Even though I don't watch many films I actually took the time to watch the most famous classics Question now is whether you too appreciate modern culture, old man

Does having a DA account count as "appreciating modern culture"? π: 0 β©: 1
What about "The Martian" and "Zootopia"?Β Modern culture?Β
PS: If you haven't already be sure to check out "Casablanca"
Haymunk In reply to ShieldLiger [2016-03-23 18:24:31 +0000 UTC]
I guess I can take that as a yes By the way.. How old are you? From this point you could be like mid-20s or mid-50s xD

Only 48, though with the way things have bee changing since I was in High School I sometimes feel like I'm 100.Β Β And it is way to easy to fall into that "old geezer" mind set
Β

Even with 17 I already feel hella old, so I can completely relate ^^ You're doing a good effort at not falling into it, keep it that way

Yeah, I'm fighting the good fight, trying not to grow up as I get older but I really should come clean and admit that from time to time I actually >like< acting like an old geezer
Most of the time not, but sometimes, just every once in awhile, when the moon is in the seventh house and all, I just love to say "get off my lawn you little pests!" Β
I wonder if there is a chapter of OGA (Old Geezers Anonymous) in my area?Β I might want to drop in, though I hear they have really bad coffee

That's probably natural.. Every now and then every healthy human mind just wants to tell people to fuck off Kinda jealous though, when you're old no one minds anymore
But seriously, aging is nothing to be ashamed off
