Description erm yeah you remember that shot i took? well now there are lines..

its not a render, also, its a photo.

i mgiht do something else along these lines sometime soon

lines...what kind of a stupid pun was that

----

EDIT: many people are asking so i shall say that the way there is no camera is that it was photoshopped out, i dunno if i want to tel you the whole thing here if you havent asked, because it might spoil it for you or something..

-------

EDIT

HOLY COW

WTF??

___

Erm, yeah, the small circle that you can see between the lines is where the camera lens was, i cut a small hole in the piece of paper, and then blu tacked the cam too it. Then i did that photoshop rubber stamp thing, you guys sussed me

Impressive concept and execution. It won't ruin it for me if you tell me how this was done.

Maybe I'll try to replicate this.

Either you used mirrors really well, or you manipulated it, or your just really freakin good.

Great image and idea, its just kinda pixelated/dirty on the ball

Very nice. Smoothest use of HDRIs imaging ive seen. To everyone who is asking. Im assuming this is HDRI coz that would be the logical way to do this but anyways. if u dont know what HDRIs are google is you're friend...

very nice depth of field and lighting...but the sphere seems to have lots of imperfections on the part where you digitally removed your camera. nevertheless, not bad at all...

ahaha, cubikal posted right before me & i didnt see until just now, but he wrote out what i was trying to say better

damn this horror film screenplay. its messing up my processing abilities of the brain & maybe pooo or huh?! what where am i? what...woooo, shiny.... @_@

kvsvx [2003-03-03 09:11:31 +0000 UTC]

i think i know how he might have done it, but only if i were to ever have a chance to do somethign like this. the way i looked at the setup & how its reflecting. the position & the light area. justlook in the middle of the lines...i'm probably wrong but i have some idea & i love this shot.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

cubikal [2003-03-03 09:09:50 +0000 UTC]

ahh, i think i figured out how you hid the camera. quite clever. i wont spoil it for others...but if you are dying to know, you just have to really think about the image. im not just talking about manipulating the photo in PS, im talking about what he did to take the camera out.

a very interesting idea for photographs. i saw this as a DD and i was like "how can a sphere in a box become a DD? i do that all the time...it must be that he is popular heh"

congrats too! a job well done

These are also my thoughts; if you look close below the 'circle', in the floorline, there's a blurred part as well. Maybe the spot of the tripod?

Excellent subject to photograph though, normally you'll only see these things as a 3D render. Where do you find spots like these??

idream [2003-03-03 08:54:32 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh...If you look real close you can see a edited circle on the reflection in the sphere. Right above the second horizontal line in the middle just about. Very cool idea...wasn't much to edit. I might be wrong though but it looks that way

I really wish the image were sharper, has alot of distortions....

Very Clever Indeed ! I'd go out on a limb and say it's a trick with Mirrors...Aint nothin' you cant hide , or show for that matter with mirrors if you know what you're doing
in any event, it's lovely! You've confuzzled a great many people - Much admiration from me I'm yet to achive that status, but I'm trying.
