Description
erm yeah you remember that shot i took? well now there are lines..its not a render, also, its a photo.
i mgiht do something else along these lines sometime soon
lines...what kind of a stupid pun was that
----
EDIT: many people are asking so i shall say that the way there is no camera is that it was photoshopped out, i dunno if i want to tel you the whole thing here if you havent asked, because it might spoil it for you or something..
-------
EDIT
HOLY COW
WTF??
___
Erm, yeah, the small circle that you can see between the lines is where the camera lens was, i cut a small hole in the piece of paper, and then blu tacked the cam too it. Then i did that photoshop rubber stamp thing, you guys sussed me

i think the camera is in the way back of the room at the top, cuz you can see the flash up there too. you are using a long telephoto lense maybe?
am i right?

It's a great idea, i just can't help but wish it were a little more polished. Uniform lighting, instead of the starkness removing the lines on the top reflection, would be nice, and add to the surreality. Also, the visible seams and tufts on the lines detract. Lastly, and this is just nitpicky, but the sphere isn't quite spherical. I've never tried to get a metal sphere, I don't know how hard it is to get a really smooth one, but it would be nice if it were smoooooooth.
Still, it's a wonderful concept, and the camera is certainly invisible, must give credit where it's due.
Good stuff

Ah, who gives a fuck that ya edited the camera lense out of the shot?? At least you had the balls to admit it- the sad thing is that "everyone" in this community does it, and doesn't fess up unless its something totally obvious- THEN everyone who does it gets to go point the finger, because OOHhhhh NOOOooo you edited it! waaaaaah!!
*cough* anyhow- its an awesome shot, and still would have been so, in my oppinion, had the lense still been in it. Love the reflections, the shapes- the light play, the lines- as difficult as it may have been to capture the ball from a different angle, I may suggest a slightly different crop, or a shot from lower down- that one v line at the top is a bit distracting.
Definately a fav!

Very nice indeed. Kind of Escher-esque, like his self portrait. It took me a ahile to find the camera, but i think I see it in the reflection. I'm a reflection junkie, so I always look for stuff like that.

the effect is great, but the lines get rigid in the reflection. i'm guessing that's caused by cloning the camera out of the reflection. you might want to try painting over the lines in photoshop to smooth them out.

nice work. it could be much more better edited, but i like it though. i love the idea and the geometrical aspect in that shot. the use of colors here is also something different. its really a fresh thing between that many equal things i see here day by day...thanks for breaking the triteness.

I too was getting annoyed by all the questions of "where is the camera" What I would like to know is how, exactly, you edited it out. I am DYING to find out.
Either way, nice work.

this would be a lot better of you had made the lines solid, it breaks the fluindess of the image. what's the deal with the lines coming out of them. also the reflection is blurry. maybe you could have put the f-stop up to make it all clear.
i see where you had the camera, in the reflection on the bottom line there's a circle in the line (again breaking the fluidness of the picture) that's proabaly where the cam was, right?

i personally, love the image. It's very eye catching. It is a photomanip, not a straight photograph though. None the less, i really, really like the clean lines and render-like quality of it.....a very smooth and clean photomanip
My jaw is on the floor in disbelief of the sheer, mind-boggling volume of people that continue to ask how you have done this. It doesn't get anymore clear than you saying what you did in the description!! These people amaze me to no end. Unbelievable.
Anyway, congrats on the DTF and DD on your photomanip Keep up the good work.

after looking at this for minutes... I might be wrong but here's my guess:
the top of the box is a piece of paper which you drew... and behind it a bright source of light. the camera is behind a hole which is at the bottom of the box... and i think there's a glimpse of it in the reflection on chrome ball in the first line... you can see a big dot... you zoomed in the foto and removed the sides when you edited in paintshop?
Am I close?
very mind blowing... gr8 effect you created!!
ps I really want to this but not before knowing what you really did... I mean, it's not a difficlut thing to render this, but if it's not a render then this a gr8 piece of photography...
