sketch / london / uk / february 2003not too sure about this one...as mentioned before, this was all painted pure white, so the exposure was difficult to get right...

Doing exposures of just grey stuff is hard enough -- completely white is impossible. I would have given up, exposed it and edited everything in photoshop to get it just right. You, sir, have my most sincere regards for getting it correct.

Wow, the reflections are great, very subtile. I'd say the exposure looks just fine in this, but you are getting alot of grain. I kind of think that detracts ALOT from this photo. Appart from the grain, it's so smooth and clean.

Not so sure, you say??!! The contrasts of tone and light, the exposure and lines give this quite a surreal feel...the whiteness is wonderful, as always, an excellent photograph!

Very gorgeous and perfect exposure, if you ask me... My only quibble might be that it might ought to have been framed with more contrast AROUND the image (black or a middle grey?), but I'm not sure how well that would have worked...
Can't imagine how many of these you took, but it's hard to imagine a better perspective than this one - the stairs themselves leading to a mysterious infinity, and then the bannister "beckoning us along" as a separate but parallel element... The eggs, of course, give the whole piece the gravity of life-and-death/afterlife connotations in a clever way.
And it's funny, but I can't nail a specific implication of the footlights, but at the very least they're critical to adding just a little detail to this sweeping shot.
Most of all, though, is that you just NAILED this exposure, because you've ended up with no PURE white whatsoever, other than the sky pouring in from above (the only element without form, so it's perfect this way), and yet everything FEELS white.
Except, of course, those stairs, offering us mere earthbound mortals a dubious opportunity...

Very good starway picture, it has a kinda hazy dreamy vibe going on in it. I can imagine an angel bringing my breakfast down the stairs for me.... Exposure seems spot on, and those white walls can be difficult..well done man..
