I liek the rage, reflections and the extreem black and white of this but I do wish it was sharper.

awesome shot (no pun intended ) and i love the reflection of her white dress on the stage. the figure and all that blackness really makes for a good contrast.

Hm. Commented on this and the DA monster ate it...

I think all that can be said has been said about this amazing pic. The passion and raw emotion in it is chilling. Juliets stance is superbly powerful and yet confused and frightened at the same time. The cropping ads to the dramaticism of the pic. Shot at the exact right moment. Wonderful wonderful job on the part of the actress and the photographer. Definitely a +fav.

whoa! i don't really like theater, but this performance of romeo and julliette i've got to see. i like how it seems like she's interacting with nothing. untill when is it playing, maybe i'll hop over to catch it before it stops or is it coming to the netherlands too?

*sighs at Hitori's comment* A great photo doesn't HAVE to be sharp and in focus, it has to evoke something real. As most of us know, a great photo is something that can capture a whole story or a deep emotion within a single shot.

...much like this shot has done. It's not only a good documentation of an event, but a superb capture of someone's actions, efforts, and feelings.

this is a great photo. the composition fascinates me, all that incredible darkness and then the big contrast of the actress's clothes... and I actually like the blurriness, it gives a more dynamic feel to it.

about the quality (or lack thereof): i was not allowed to take a tripod into the theatre during the performance, so i had to do this hand-held...and despite the 3200 ASA film, i was only getting shutter speeds of about 1/30. oh well, next time eh...

I am constatnly stunned by your peices...but I never feel I am worthy enough of your art to comment...but I suppoise I will now..because I love this..in fact I just got finished watching Baz Luhrman's Romeo and Juliette with the guns yesterday night and the vision is still very prominent in my head. This is an excellent representation...the mixes of culture...juliete being a black woman shows the awesome character play and the long billowing dress flowing almost to a reflection to the angered source. The flailing of the gun...the facial expression contradicts with her attire. Everything

FITS....this is what I call...perfection at its most...the black and white by the way adds a lot.

KUDOS!

Powerful shot...

Again, your use of contrast leaves me wanting more!

This is another one of those situations where part of me wants her in focus and the other does not. In focus, it would be a great shot but the lack of focus on the focal point stirs so much more in the image!
