Description About The Character: This is a fan art of Gwen Stacy, a character from the Spider-Man comic series. She was Peter Parker's previous girlfriend before he started dating Mary Jane (his future wife).

About The Artwork: I made this fan art with the use of Photoshop and a mouse. I've also been experimenting with a different method on creating the line art here. Does it look a bit better?

Note: This character is created by Stan Lee together with Steve Ditko and is owned by Marvel.

Can I be honest? Cause I think Spidey was better off hanging with Gwen than Mary Jane. Glad she was in the Amazing Spider Man Movie.

The lines are very clean and are just the right thickness, so it looks real nice. You did a really good job on the eyes. I like that the most.

very nice approach with the pen tool...

lol I'm not familiar with all of these photoshop techniques, did you think of that yourself or is that a well-known technique?

That's really cool. The lineart does look good. Not too thick or thin. Balanced just right. The eyes look very nice and vibrant, which adds to the smile

To answer your question, I certainly think the lineart looks better, it feels more dynamic and more flowing. Did you experiment with brush sizes and the simulate pressure? It looks great.

I always found lineart to be a bit tedious, especially if they were to be colored; which parts to line boldly, which softly, and which none and all? The artist needs to consider the detail they plan with shading...you always find a great balance between the lineart detail and the smooth shading and colors. They work together flawlessly...something I need to work on greatly.

In this picture, I particularly like the shades in her blonde hair; it's usually harder to shade blonde hair correctly, but you chose the right bronze tones and varied with cell and soft shading.

I especially love the eyes; they are so soft and delicate looking, deep and rich. Good job with highlight colors too, I see you used a warm yellow for her shirt, it adds more life to the picture. Overall, fantastic job!

You're welcome...comments are meant to be written well and respectful, aren't they? I've got one question...you don't mind critique, do you?

I figure I'd ask first before I offend anyone.

Yeah, I think the lineart looks great, actually. It looks bolder and more natural, and her hair looks very smooth and flowy. That combined with the cel shading in her hair, and the shiny blue eyes make her look nice and pretty.
