The difference is that Sentinel Prime has a greasy, opportunistic personality that allows something like this to be played for laughs because it arguably seems like something he'd do if the show had adult overtones. On the other hand, Arcee isn't at all the type of character to be retarded enough to fall for something like that, and it was the fact that she was FEMALE that fueled your joke. My joke plays with the personality of a single character who is designed to be unpleasant, yours plays with the generalization that anything gendered female is air-headed enough to fall for workplace sexism.
But really, there's no point in dragging this issue around, especially to other deviations.
