Just a quickie that I knocked up as a break from my current piece (nearly finished). Thought I'd give -nebezials dinosaur scale tutorial a bash. Check it out for yourself[link]
The tear and snot were done with the plastic wrap filter.
All done in PS7.

Its funny- I had been complaining about the lack of painter style impasto brushes in PS and then I find that all I had to do was tweak the layer properties. Just goes to show you shouldn't judge a package until you know it inside out.

ya to be honest.. that was a new one on me to.. never though about setting up the brushes on hard light and useing the emboss that way.. I still need to work out settings to get the right effect.. but im sure with a little time and good brushes..this is a great set up

Definately an effect to be used sparingly- otherwize you run the danger of making everything look flat and like its made of moulded plastic.
