Had to fanart before they completely ruin his character to serve as a foil for this "brother" - poor thing.I'm not against foiling as it's commonly used to make the protag standout... It's just the way it's used here. It has been Foreshadowed since the first episodes and here we are (ep.19?) and they're not done ruining the boy yet XD They're enjoying destroying him slowly before your eyes XD But it doesn't make the protag any better (at least for me). In fact, it makes him look like a naive, apathetic kid - perfectly normal for a protag - NO!

Okay so what they were doing is establishing what Cheval was like before, and then turning him into a dick to show how he becomes obsessed with vengeance and hatred. Lute remains pure and heroic, because he's Lute. Eventually you'll see Cheval learn why he's going about things the wrong way. Still going to be quite a few weeks for that though, since the series I think is 44 episodes long, and 25 just finished here.

He's a bit of a dick in episode 6. Good intentions, but Lute had good intentions too. Basically just a variation of Gift of the Magi. BUT Cheval does admit he was being a dick, and it all turns up okay since Lute found another one. Nothing naive or apathetic about either. In fact, it was Lute being sympathetic that caused a problem; he was trying to do something nice for Cheval, Cheval was trying to do something nice for him, and nobody communicated anything, so an accident happened. But Cheval wanted the egg, so it was on him to at least say "please don't sell it, I want it for something".

Found it already and watched one episode. Lute (Ryuto) is pretty cute. And that "seamless" CGI is amazing. Might watch a bit more at some point, but it's tied to a game series I'm not overly fond of.
