Invicta was an astronaut who was testing an experimental faster-than-light propulsion drive. During the first trial run, the drive malfunctioned and she was exposed to radiation from the core. Although she was able to eject from her spacecraft before it exploded, her superiors used her as a scapegoat for the failed test and fired her. Having lost the job she loved and worked her entire life to obtain, she wandered for a time until she discovered that she could generate and manipulate an unusual form of exotic matter. She fell into superheroics soon after, finding new purpose in saving lives. Amongst the constructs she can produce are a near-indestructible shield and an impossibly sharp sword that can cut through anything.

Panoptes was a brilliant inventor who suffered from a degenerative genetic condition. Disgusted that his mind was trapped in a feeble and dying body, he began replacing his failing organs with cybernetic components. He became obsessed with enhancing himself and intends to similarly “improve” the rest of humanity. His robotic body has immense strength as well as numerous integrated weapons, the most potent of which is his cyclopean mechanical eye. The eye is a sensor array that can view the entirety of the electromagnetic spectrum and see in a full 360 degrees around him. It can also project a devastating laser beam that can cut through titanium armor or disintegrate unprotected targets.
