Description
A cover artwork for one of our Art-Battles, featuring local characters and random ponies.I'll say right away that the face of the pony in front was borrowed from Baekgup's amazingly cute artwork .

It is basically a weekly speed painting contest, where you are given a theme and 2 hours to do the drawing. And it absolutely is working, helped me tons to improve both speed and quality.

Anyone registered at our forum (tabun.everypony.ru/ ) can participate, they only need to submit the work under the (not overly strict) deadline. Unfortunately, the forum is entirely in Russian, so it would probably be a little uncomfortable for non-native speakers, but if you would like to give it a try I could help translate stuff

Timed drawings are an extremely helpful exercise. I've been told it's also effective to alternate between working on your quality and on your speed in art. I've heard Pony Artist Training Grounds do something similar in this spirit. Well, maybe another time. Good luck with uni!

We hold those contests every Saturday and every second Wednesday at 8 p.m. Moscow Time (UTC+3). I also must to warn you that this would probably be the first time ever a foreigner would register on this entirely Russian forum. But I'm sure many of us will welcome this interesting change as much as I do.

Hey, I just found out about the "30 minute challenge" , which is very similar to Art-Battle, but condensed in just 30 minutes, and it is happens 3 times every day. I'll definitely give it a try.
