Again, the island brought forth more carnage and at the thought, his ears flattened before perking again and he dipped a tentative toe into the pool in front of him.

Could such beauty be so destructive? The whole ordeal surged terror in his chest, as if he fed upon it from the wolves of the Taikans themselves.

Pondering the possibility, he exhaled, reckoning that it stemmed more from his general unease of which he could not understand.

Magic had become different, in a way, he slowly was beginning to understand it as much as a wolf without the so-called prowess could. Not that he would admit such a thing, it seemed to lean too much into empathizing those riddled with what he should view as a curse.
