A little something I threw together as I finished practicing for the day... Everything in black was done in JoinMe... then I added some notes afterwards- Hope someone would find it useful lasjdfla Scrapping later-Feel free to not take my word for it LOLOL I'm just a lowly hobbist....

This is definitely really cool and helpful for hand ideas. I'm personally really bad at coming up with hand positions so this would be really great to look back on.

On the fingernails, I was taught not to outline them all the way around, and when in doubt, check yourself.

lol yea with the nails... but I've also learnt it doesn't matter at times xD It's kinda hard to draw while using your own hand as reference too- and sadly I have no camera on me... LMFAO

Yeah, I've gotten my left hand into some pretty...interesting (?) situations. BTW, I'm right handed. Although sometimes, I pause what I'm drawing and look to my right and OMIGOSH!! THE PERFECT REFERENCE!! 
I agree with you on the nails too. In just practice sketches it really doesn't matter, and sometimes you want to see an indication for the whole nail bed.
I've never thought of doing this before, but one could try it in a mirror. Though very few people have portable full-length mirrors, or portable vanity-sized mirrors, or portable mirrors large enough to show the entirety of what is meant to be copied.
And bless who ever invented Photobooth on mac! I hate the resolution, but it gets the job done at times.
