Just for fun. Sorry about the bad quality picture (camera isn't very good ^-^;; And I can't keep a steady hand). Ah. Started in history class (<-- such a boring class this year) and shaded at Outkaster77's house (<-- thank you for having me over =] )Critique is loved. Thank you very much for looking ^_^.

I love your drawings... still learning about the human face though before i move onto the body and such.

I have a question though... how do get such smooth shading effects?
I end up getting angry and just cross-hatch shade my pictures (mainly portraits, anyways).

Cross hatching is what I do, and then I just brush the surface of it with a clean tissue (or wrap it thickly around your finger, but smoothly, and rub really gently in circles.). Not those cheap paper tissues though. They don't really work. *shrug* That's what I do. I hope it helps ^-^

thats pretty amazing, how do you shade it though ? i can draw the outlines of people but when it comes to the shading i just can't do it.

I hold my pencil super weird, like it rest on my ring finger. Anyways, I hold it at the very very end, so it's super loose (and I use a 4H or 2H for skin, then a 3B for darker areas). Then for shading, I use my finger (middle or pointer finger) to push the pencil back and forth, not my wrist, now that I think about it. And use tons of light layers to smooth it out. And some people use blenders for skin, but I don't like blenders (cause then I leave smear marks ^-^;;
