Must be Order of the Argent Shroud. They're like the Lamenters of the Sororitas without the horrific bad luck.

With so much Grimdark in the 41st millennium, we forget that good people still exist, even in the most dystopian of all futures.

Now my mind is buzzing with ideas about a story behind this picture!
(Is there a story?)

Thank you so much!
Well, there actually IS a story behind it, but I wrote it only in german - it's way too difficult for me to translate it.
But here is a short version of the whole thing:
Sister Salome had just been promoted to the rank of a full Battle Sister, when she was given a mission to save and rescue a potential new recruit; an orphan whose father was an officer in the Imperial Guard.
Unfortunately, she discovered that young Donna had already been murdered when she arrived. It was then that she heard a little girl's screams and, in a rush of zealous fury, killed the traitor guardsmen harrassing the girl.
Looking at the helpless girl, she suddenly had the idea that none of her superiors would notice the difference - and even if they did, who would care?
She talked to the poor wretch and asked her if she were willing to go with her, to become a protector of people just as helpless as she had been until today.
And so, young Asifa became Sister Donna, and the two agreed never to mention her old name again.

I think this describes a lot of what the sisters of battle do...except you need a traitor corpse nearby (to show that he/she was gonna do horrible things to the girl)

The only bad point I can point out is that on the top left hand corner, the sister's expression could be improved slightly...

Always here them saving little orphan girls, why never orphan boys? It's not like they don't make enough orphans themselves what with their constant purges.

I do absolutely not mean to be rude, but you should think better about what you say to other people.
It's not that I do not appreciate your comments; it's just that they seem to decline in quality. You're welcome to comment about my style, my technical capabilities or even mistakes I made. But if you do not like the content or wish I had chosen something else as my motif, I really cannot help you.
I'd prefer if you didn't post meaningless sentences. DA is not the platform to discuss whatever people like or no

DA is a platform for whatever those signed in it wish it to be, I will leave that as that, but if you want me to speak relevant to the work, fine.
The technique is a derivative of anime and manga obvious, like most early art seems to be these days. Reflecting the popular medium's effect on the world youth.
As for your quality, it is above average, showing that you've put much work into your style, which I must say hasn't advanced much past the anime manga stage, but could very well blossom into a truely unique form all its own in a few years.
As for the scene, it's very two dimensional, and doesn't offer much in the way of character development for either the Sister or the orphan. You don't even see the attackers and only barely know of their existence through the cut on her cheek and what I can only assume are las bolts? Regardless, if the piece took less than an hour I wouldn't be surprised, my suggestion would be to expand on it and to create a story behind it and see what everyone has to say about it.
Better? Though back to my previous statement, let me post it as a question.
Why did you choose a female orphan over a male orphan? Is it simply so that you could have her grow up to be a Sister such as the woman before her now? Additionally, given that the 40k universe is all about the grim-dark, why do you prefer to post your figure in such a one dimensional light such as the "heroin"?
These are honest questions, not just sarcasm, I would appreciate if you answered them.

I actually didn't want to make you post such a long comment about this picture - but yes, it is better. Now I know what you think and what you like or dislike about it; and what you think about my style in general.
I will answer your questions - if you had posted them as questions from the very beginning, I wouldn't have had a reason to complain about your comment in the first place.
The orphan is female, because the picture is a flashback to Sister Donna's past, being saved as a little girl by Sister Salome and thereafter entering the order.
There's also a more elaborate story behind the picture, explaining what happens here a little further, but since my Englisch isn't as good as I'd like it to be, I see no chance to post it at the moment.
The problem with pictures is that they mostly leave a somewhat one-dimensional impression. Salome is the heroine of this picture, but she has failed many a task in her past - even had to undergo the shame of being a repentia.
You see, there's a lot more to her than just being the plain hero - although nobody with further knowledge of my order's fluff will be able to get the idea that easily.
By the way, save for my order's saint none of the other sisters were ever painted as a typical heroine; c.f. "Collateral Damage".
Thanks for your reply, hope I could answer your questions.

Yep, answered them all nicely. And while you claim your english isn't up to the task, it wouldn't hurt to post the story either. Give those intersted a little more depth, even if they have to read it.

There's something wrong about causing grown men to well up with a Sisters of Battle scene....*wipes tear* This is supposed to be the grim darkness of the 41st millenium!! There should be no happy endings. You should do another piece...
"During initiation into the order, Sister Donna was found to be a weak willed psyker and Sister Salome drew execution duty."
There we go...unhappy ending sorted.
