From my Top Five Members of the Care Bear Family list.Swift Heart Rabbit is #2, because I like her attitude and have a fondness for speedsters. Also, it's amusing how nobody ever agrees on whether the bunny's a boy or a girl (I drew her as a girl, just because).

I re-watch the S01E03 "The Great Race" from Nelvana 1986, I noticed they say there "She (Swift Heart) is the fastest Care Bear", so I guess Swift Heart being a She is canon

I think the Nelvada cartoon established Swift Heart as a girl, yes. At least, in the Care Bears in Wonderland movie Swift Heart is mentioned to be the niece, not the nephew, if the White Rabbit. Β However in the DIC cartoon and in the comics, Swift Heart was referred to as male. So it really depends on the continuity.
I went with the female version mainly because My Top Five Members of the Care Bear Family Β list was already male-dominated. This way, Cheer Bear isn't the only girl on the list.

I see.Β Though I prefer the Nelvana continuity, I really love the animation of Nelvana more than Dic's animation, though I remember reading Nelvana based on a story from the Marvel/Star Comics (The Very First Care Bear) to create the beggining of Care Bears 2:Β A New Generation

I took it many years as a he, so now is hard for me to take Swift Heart as a she

True, lots of folks are confused of what gender Swift Heart is, to me she is more of a girl than a boy, since an actress does her voice.
