This animation reminds me of Weiss from Arcana Heart 3. Am I right or wrong on any possible inspiration for this character? (Either way this game is shaping up to be something special.)

Thanks! I'm not a huge fan of the animations in Arcana Heart to be honest. Though I DO take inspiration from other fighters. The first slash is just me posing in front of a mirror for a stylish quick slash. The second slash is loosely based on Bison/Vega's "paint the fence" attack from CVS2. The uppertcut at the end is inspired by B. Jenet from Mark of the Wolves.
