Today, October 12, marks the 10-year anniversary since I started drawing ponies.

Featured here is Midwinter Eve, the ponysona of who was a very early artistic inspiration for me. I remember when I first discovered her art. I had a vague idea in my mind of what I wanted my art to look like, but I needed some good examples to study and practice emulating. I searched around DeviantArt and soon landed on Ruhje's page, whose art style was *exactly* what I was looking for. I remember the joy of finding it, and I quickly became semi-obsessed with copying her style. I feel I never quite hit her level of expertise and I still look to her drawings for further inspiration today. She seems to have deleted her deviantArt account, but you can still find some of her art on derpibooru. If you see this, Ruhje, I hope life is treating you well, and thank you so much for the artistic inspiration!
