Conceptual Description Thinking of night as the theme, I composed the New Umbreon combining the original design elements plus my own interpretation of night symbolism. I used Black and Blue because black is associated with the night (darker than the day) and blue because is a cold color (the night is colder than the day). Its eyes are yellow, a reference to a mystic creature and the yellow moon. The wavy tail and ears give the impression of a dark cloudy sky. The flurry around its neck is associated with a hoody that gives more mystery to the character and the sensation of the wind blowing in the night. The blue circles are representations of the full moon waves of cold beams. The forehead symbol represents the half-moon. The shiny version represents the red moon. However, it not pure red since the night still cold even with a red moon, the magenta color and the blue eyes keep the cold environment in place.

I like that you gave this redesigned Umbreon the Prankster ability, it adds to already 'tanky' feature that Umbreon is really known for in combat (high def/sp.def).
Vision: 5/5 You sought to redesign an Umbreon--that of which I can clearly see in your redesigned piece. I can see you planned this redesign very well, as seen in the execution of the design itself. Excellent!
Originality: 4.5/5 I find the flowing clouds design to be both an impacting and meaningful choice when redesigning Umbreon. I appreciate that you chose to use the Shiny coloring for the regular redesigned Umbreon. It is nice to see an alternate Shiny Umbreon color design that also fits the eerie night sky aspect you are articulating in the the ears, mane and tail. The Shiny dark magenta really complements the midnight blue regular ring color in the redesign. I also like the eyes, especially in the Shiny redesign. It is a powerful cyan that screams to be noticed and both clashes and complements with the dark magenta rings. I will say I do miss the tail ring in your redesign as well as the ear rings from the original. They add a lot to the Pokemon. But really I can see you put a lot of time and effort and thought into this piece, so good work there!
Technique: 5/5 Once again you have really got the Sugimori-style down quite nicely. And because of this your redrawing looks not only legitimate compared to the actual artwork but it also looks Official! Your shading and use of light to dark (though subtle in Umbreon's dark fur) is still visible and that proves you are an adaptable and capable artist. Kudos!
Impact: 5/5 Your redesign is filled with visual impact. I appreciate, though being a fan of Pokemon for a very long time, seeing the Official art beside your redesign. The white background offers neutrality to the piece and makes it easy on the eyes, especially since the viewer is looking at such a dark-furred Pokemon, the white helps Umbreon pop on the page--both the Official and yours as well!

Fun fact (i think)
Umbreon looks like a scorpion with the stingy tail and ears because it was meant to be Poison!

the far right is lightly spooky, but in a good way. Makes it = psychic/ghost in my mind. I enjoy the moon crest on the head of Umbreon, makes it seem more night-time related.

Thank you. This flow reminds me about dark clouds and the half moon in the forehead unifies the composition making Umbreon’s dark type associated with the Night.
