Description
Catnip (on the left) from Hello Kitty Furry's Tales and Chanet (on the right) from Maeterlinck's Blue Bird: Tyltyl and Mytyl's Adventurous Journey. Both from the eighties, both bad siamese kitties, both looking at theirself in the mirror, so similar, so different!I leave you any comment.

If you know that Catnip is from Hello Kitty Furry Tale Theater you should know that it's an american cartoon.

Actually, it's American, Candian, and Japanese. And the mouths move in an anime like style from what I've seen on YouTube

A nice example of the difference between the typical Western (US) idea of cartoons (For kids) vs the anime (For an older audience)

Did you know? The father of the anime genre, Osamu Tezuka, was also a furry fan. Check out his works!

Nice kitties, I must say. Chanet looks more human than Catnip here (She even has a pointy nose and a straight mouth). In fact looks more like a catgirl than a furry. Catnip looks really furry. But, of course, I have a weakness for the anime faces. Specially the eyes. How could be that a country that always made small eyes, closer to their eye shape (did you see the ancient japanese portraits?), ended up with eyes quite big for the face structure as they do? I mean, those eyes are so catching... I can't stop looking... Damn, I think I'm in love.

Osamu Tezuka learned it from Walt Disney and every japanese artist learned it from Osamu Tezuka.

well, what else can I say? I guess cartoons are cartoons, no matter where you're from. In japan, all cartoons are called anime. It's all one big happΓ₯y family.
Also: LOLwut, Hello Kitty had her own TV-series in the 80's? I don't know if I should be surprised or not.
