Description
Some old 2D animation. wow, it must be about a year old. It's bernard. And his date hasn't shown up yet - and he was planning to propose to her. Haha.I am still trying to figure out if I want this animation in my final showreel. I would really have to fix the arm screen left.
I used TVpaint.
Still, GIF is not kind to my animation. sigh.

It is called the animation workshop, although it is actually a place where you get a 3 and a half year bachelor degree. I always find the name workshop confusing...

Only two of us chose Bernard this year, but yes the objective is the same

bernard was difficult! But this was the first animation where I really focused on keeping things on model. took a LOT of time, but really payed of in the end.

Yeah, I'm still struggling with the on-model thing, because I usually work very loosely... But TVPaint is great for keeping a layer that deals only with simple volume-shapes - so this excercise helped me a lot too.

thanks a lot! Really need to redo some spacing things if I want it in my showreel, but this was one of my first nice animations ever. TVPaint for the win!

In my opinion, it"s already an excellent work ^^
By the way, if you have other stuffs made with TVPaint, don't hesitate to submit them on the TVPaint-Users group !

Well - I'm going for a 3D job once I'm done here at the animation workshop, and if I'm going to have 2D in my reel, it had better be good. but thanks a lot.
Can I submit stuff even though it has some borrowed sound? I have a dialogue clip that I like (about 6 sec), but the sound is borrowed from a feature film.

Are you talking about the short animation with Sultan from Aladdin ? (it's the only other 2D animation I've seen on your gallery ^^)
Anyway, feel free to submit it, the sound is not "important" ^^
By the way, it's great to see such an enthusiasm for traditional animation, even if you want to be a 3D animator. Usually, best 3D animators were 2D animators before : they have a better feeling and bring more fluidity to their movement.

yep, the Sultan. I really liked that one as well. I'm probably going to submit it.
Well, at this school we are spending the entire first year doing 2D, even though most want to be 3D animators. And I still use my 2D skills when doing thumbs. it's just easier.

Yep, don't hesitate to submit it
I've nver been in Animation Workshop, but I had the possibility to see many pictures and video from that school. And following the good artists trained there (who are now working for Copenhagen Bombay or Zentropa), it seems obviously to be a good school that teaches you all you have to know about animation.
I don't remember... do students from AW come in Annecy ?

It has been done.
It's a really nice school. And especially the bachelor films are getting better and better.
yeah, every year the second-year class goes to annecy - this year it is my turn. can't wait.

Hehe, you'll see, it's a great moment for students : great movies and boring ones, interesting meetings with professionals, pubs and beer, living it up all night long....and of course, the Annecy's lake ! Don't forget to take a swimsuit : the lake's water is fresh, but so great when weather is a little too hot
I'll be in Annecy this year too, at the TVPaint's booth during the MIFA. Don't hesitate to meet me (I'll be the only girl on the stand, it's easy ^^)

Hehe, I think we have a one time entrance to MIFA, I'll keep and eye out for you then.
