Trying something a bit different- customized action figures. I DO feel this is a craft and an artform given the creativity involved.

For those that don't know, this involves taking an existing figure (or figures) and making them into a character that hasn't been released by the toy company. I collect the DC Universe Classics line made by Mattel until a few years ago and feel the need to fill out the roster of missing characters using figures from that particular line as much as possible. If I can remember it, I will try to include the 'recipe' I used in making each new figure.

This one is a two-fer. One because these characters were often depicted together in the comics and two because I forgot to take separate photos of them at the time. Both are members of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Expect to see a lot of Legionnaires as I intend to do every unique member as time goes on.

On the left is Timber Wolf. Mattel made a figure of him in the large Legion box set, which I do own, but I felt it was too small and skinny. TW is made from a repainted Flash figure with a El Dorado head.
The big fellow beside him is Blok. I used a Metal Men Lead (WAaaay to big for THAT character!) as the base and sculpted the outfit from GreenStuff. The head is a spare BAF Nekron head also transformed with GreenStuff.

Both fellows are in the costumes designed for them by Steve Lightle, who will play a large part in a later figure.
