Description The Wulkori (Basic plural: Valkyries), were a legendary all-female sect of beast riders native to Bothawui who existed at an early point in the planet's pre-industrial history, over twenty thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, in the murky times of the galaxy when the Old Republic was still in its relative infancy and confined largely to the core in its slow but steady trudge outwards under the watchful eyes of the Jedi on Ossus and the other watchworlds of the Tion Cluster.

According to legend they were believed to be the daughters of Golm, king of the most well known Pantheon of Bothan deities, and were blessed with impeccable senses, seemingly precognitive reflexes, immeasurable strength, unerring accuracy, and the ability to tame even the fiercest of the Sky Dragons that once dominated the skies of Bothawui with ease. In addition it was said that the maidens would appear on the field of battle to secure victory for a side whose cause they deemed worth their intervention and striking at their foes from the air with, javelin, spear, and bow alike, in the process fulfilling their duty to send the souls of those slain in battle to stand at Golm's side when the great war that would signal the End of Days began.

Though this mythic conflict never came to be, and the Wulkori would later fade into legend, their influence remains on Bothan society and heroes in many Bothan epics would often have a Wulkori as a lover or a companion. From a scientific perspective, more than one modern scholar would note that most of their supernatural abilities bear a great resemblance to the Force Powers of the Jedi, with the most accepted theory being that the legendary warrior maidens were Force Adepts and Bothawui's first true brush with the concept of an order of Force Users.

Today, though the order is extinct, remnants of their keeps can be found on scattered mountaintops across Bothawui and many of the most influential families in Bothan space, particularly those who have produced Force Sensitives, claim a lineage to the Wulkori, which occasionally leads to a resurgence in interest by Bothan culture, and to a degree the Galaxy at large.

The crude emblem seen depicted here is a replica of one painted on the nose cowling of a Bothan prop-engined skyfighter that operated during the Bothan Global Conflict approximately sixteen thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, it depicts a Wulkori spearmaiden holding her weapon in an unusal stance. Such noseart remains common among Bothan starfighter pilots even millennia later, and some even view their own piloting careers as mere extensions of the Wulkori's path of aerial dominance.
