Description
flatland love lost,lingering as
he twists his way
up canyon roads, west
chasing a sun running,
retreating, away from the day
it rose upon, flatland love
morning light, when all was right
connected in disconnect
sharing tears, miles away
in the space reserved
for souls and ghosts
one twisting, lying on her side
the other, up canyon roads
the stones we carry
into age and wisdom
some shiny, beautiful.
memories, like fingerprints
no two, the same
the stones we carry
into age and wisdom
fear and regret
all jagged, heavy to bear
recollection; the collection
the weight of wisdom and worry
the she and he,
carved a space to place
each stone down, free
to dance in the soul's space
free from, the burden
of the jagged, free
of the pride of the shiny
flying high, reborn
the she and he, returned
to see, respective piles
piled high, one by one
collected, reminded.
ugly the jagged,
less beautiful the shiny
for this beauty,
no stone could capture
burdened by both,
longing for the free,
weightlessness in the arms
of she, one final last look
eyes meet, to say
goodbye...
he twists his way
up canyon roads, west
chasing a sun running,
retreating, away from the day
it rose, on flatland love
and morning light,
when all was right
