Description one eye open
cycling between
yesterday's polaroids
and today's soon to be

six-sided stars
collect on autumn leaves
as a churchbell rings
only twice

this made my day, especially the second stanza. i can really see it. and the story behind two simple lines, that really got me. it gave the entire poem new meaning. wonderful meaning. and now, its like breathing winter air when i read this.

lovely, as always.

chicken, of course

breaded, then fried
my wings of desire
like a winter's chill
crisp, so crisp
my lovely

little
chicken

I really love the first stanza.

I think the "churchbell rings/only twice" bit confuses me, though. What is the meaning of it?

Thanks for the comment, C.

really the churchbell thing is just that. i was standing out in an early season light snow and was unaware of what time it was. i used the bells to see if i could find the time as though they were from a clocktower. they only rang twice. i also had no idea why, but i thought it would be interesting to include it in a poem. i thought perhaps it could be 2pm, 2am, or just bells ringing on a cold day.

I think that, of all your poems (at least the ones I've read), this one's closest to a haiku in spirit.

it's sweet. I like it!

thank you! i am not a huge fan of haikus really, but yes, spirit indeed.
