First actual piece of 2018, woohoo! About time for another Alex piece
Oh, and he has a bird sidekick/first mate now! His name is Hawkeye 
Actually drew them both a while back during the time I was considering entering StarOCT, but just never released it onto dA haha.Anyways here's them doing what pirates do best - raiding airships (abandoned or otherwise) for potential riches! Watch out for traps!
I enjoyed how the colors and especially Alex's pose turned out hereΒ =v= though it also does remind me I'm still not the best at background making - feel like I could do better like it's too rigid or something ahah.

If you feel the bg is a bit rigid try breaking it down into three parts! (foreground,mid ground, and background) helps add some depth that way

ah alrighty! Yea I mean I can definitely see a distinction between the foreground and background. I see if they are too straight you can unlevel them by letting the highlights get into the worn/uneven edges and scrapes of the wood (like you did with the shadows at the top of the bg) make it seem more organic and less perfect? If it makes sense?Β
