curiosity - what is the character from. This looks familiar, but I can't place him.

Thanks for the comment^^
I just made it up, actually. Any character similarity would be coincidental.

That is a seriously awesome costume!
I really like how you have covered up the joints- for example, the tassels over the ankle.
Bare legs and arms?
You must have been a hit on the Parade!

The tassels were a Native American influence and yes, they were originally designed to conceal the joints (although in the mark 2 version they weren't needed as much but I added them anyway).
And yes, I had bare legs and arms. It definitely gave me an advantage in the Summer climate as I always stayed relatively cool.
The parade is a blast!!! Though when that picture was taken, Eric Estrada was next in line behind me on a chopper and was stealing a lot of my thunder (he's a nice chap, though, and I thanked him for not running me over)

Does anyone film and release the Parades and other events from these shows?

I haven't seen an official parade video but there may be one.
I found several videos of the parade on youtube. Here's one that has me in it (around 1:45)[link]
There are photo galleries on dragoncon.org but to view the best pictures, go to Flickr.com and just type in dragoncon parade in the search bar. That's where I found most of the ones of myself. Lots of cool stuff in the parade though..
