Fantastic black mud! If you come up you would be unrecognisable! This looks deep enough to hide in it. Haha, imagine some tourists walking by exploring the area, and you had to quickly submerge to not be discovered all covered and naked
I wonder though, what was the sound you heard while being under there? Probably the same feeling as dunking in water?

Thanks! Yes I come out jet black. I have had people see me in the past. Was pretty hard to get privacy in some places. This one is my backyard mud pit so it stays pretty private, unless I have guests over haha. It's actually much more quiet being under than in the water.

The pit is in my back yard. Probably the longest is 3 or 4 hours.

The pit is about 5 feet deep I guess. Going to make the mud deeper next year. Will take mare pics next Spring when it warms up again.

That type of thick clay mud is indeed amazing. I proposed to my ex wife in a pool of mud at a quarry but it was her first time. It would indeed be cool to be inexperienced with mud and have a girl like that show you how. I'd never thought about it that way before

Thanks for the links! Lots of cool stuff there. My fav is the first youtube clip. Love total submersion. Ironically, that is the color and consistency of my own mud pit. Not as creamy as good clay mud but still a lot of fun.

It is very hard to find them. Most the ones I loved to visit are gone now because of the harsh erosion in my area. So I made my own haha.

I rented a small excavator and dug out the pit. Trying to fill it with the right mud is the difficult part...

Just a mix of top soils mostly which is lame cause I keep having to filter out mulch. Very hard to find good clay soil in this region but haven't given up.

I literally have never experienced clay mud before. Β I really would love to some day. Β I live up in the tristate area of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Β The nicest thing we have around here is river mud. Β And even that's not very deep or overly satisfying haha.

I used to swim in clay mud at a quarry that looked like marble. I've had a lot of fun with river mud, though. There's a park close by with a lot of it but I've never borrowed any for mine. Would probably end up with fiddler crabs and whatever else haha.

Well if you know someone who sells that clay mud tell them I'll buy a thousand pounds of it haha. Unfortunately people don't sell it, especially in my region. But I'm glad I have my own pit, even if the mud isn't perfect. I can still float and sink and come out black

I love not feeling a bottom and knowing I am completely supported by the morass, not even because I am floating, but because it is thick enough to provide enough resistance to sink slowly.
