Really proud of this oneAt this point my opinion of Twilicorn has gone from just negative to negative and indifferent. As a result, I'm a bit at war with myself. This picture sort of captures that. I originally started on it for a stamp for TheAnticorn65Group [link] , since I found their current stamp generic looking. The stamp version of this can be seen here [link] . I've submitted it to the group, I'll see if they accept it.

Twilight has accidentally split herself--again--and Original Twily doesn't want to merge with Alicorn Twily because she's so sick and tired of these accidental splits in the first place. She's lecturing Alicorn Twily on the dangers of repeated accidental molecular body duplication, how they could end up being permanently two Twilights, how it will freak out Starlight, how Princess Celestia will so kill her--er, them--when she finds out, etc. etc. Meanwhile, Alicorn Twily thinks her nitpicky OCD side split off into Original Twily, which is why she is so much like Maud Pie.

Alicorn Twilight open doors to so many new challenges and will provide us with more informations about Alicorns themselves, and, extra power buff and ability to fly is fair considering that mane 6 have to save Equestria and face gods, so far they won because villains had to do stupid mistakes, but I personally would prefer mane 6 to be a steel canon and villains losing in fair battle then having mane 6 as glass canon and watching how villains are being stupid just so that good guys win.
And considering that mane 6 never get help from princesses who would balance it a bit, I find Alicorn Twilight a fair buff what she deserve ( and lets be honest, from all mane 6, she can use her new powers the best ).
As for her being princess, everyone panic to much about it, Twilight is alicorn of friendship, just like Celestia, Luna and Cadance are alicorns of sun, moon/night and love, so Twilight will not be separated from what make her so strong, she wont be separated from her friends or maybe even make more, just like Celestia and Luna will not leave sun and the moon.
So yea, Alicorn Twilight for the win ( I hope that Twilight in season 4 will not start with great flying skills and huge magic power, but I also do not want her to never fly and be as strong as before, I just want her to study and develop her new powers by studying, training and passing challenges ), even Trixie who was far weaker then Twilight, with Alicorn amulet she was owning Twilight in battle, Twilight as Alicorn can gain more power, and maybe she will master age changing spell ( that so called spell what is only for highest level Unicorns, I kind of not buy it, since Twilight is the highest level Unicorn in Equestria already, and Shinning Armor focus on shields ).

To each his own, I suppose, but I still feel let down. Unlike most shows for young girls, for the longest time they didn't resort to pretty princess stereotypes. You could argue that during Season 1 Celestia's toys were all pink, but it didn't matyer because it didn't affect the show. Cadance was pushing it, but she's not a main character so it didn't bother me too much (wish she was given some actual flaws, though.) But Twilicorn was my breaking point. Turning the main character into a princess to make a quick buck appalled me.

To be honest, you are making mistake thinking of princesses in Equestra as princess stereotype.
In Equestria princess is just a tittle what is used faaar to casually, but from my point of view princess in Equestria is the same what you could call Sage or Enlighted one, a pony what other ponies would follow, Celestia and Luna saved 3 tribes from Discord, so ponies choice them as leaders, and since for hundreds of years it worked nicely ( without Nightmare Moon incident, but lets be honest, every pony forgot about Luna and Nightmare Moon like she never existed ), why change something what work.
Cadance was probably crystal pony who created crystal heart and it turned her into alicorn, and so she was choice as crystal princess, then she had to run to Equestria for help when Sombra took over, and she was stuck without any subjects and power doing small jobs ( I do not buy scene where she was very small, it kind of make no sense, after all her parents did not showed up on the wedding, so I can assume they are long time dead from a old age ).
Now we get Twilight who was tested and manipulated by Celestia, after passing many challenges Celestia thrown at her ( never helping herself ), Twilight finally get all she need to transform, Elements of harmony, knowledge about friendship, unfinished spell what change destiny, and since Twilight proved to be good field leader, and since Celestia say hight of her student, it is simple that ponies would follow Twilight.
Twilight being a princess does not mean she will be some sort of lazy paper work making princess who sit on throne and make others do work for her, after all Twilight is national hero, element of magic and field leader, while Equestira already have 2 princesses doing paper work and laws, so Twilight being princess is just like Twilight being seen as a good leader, she will still study magic, develop her powers, hand out with her friends and save Equestria ( they will not take Twilight away form something she is good at ), but now as princess, challenges she and her friends will need to face will be a bit bigger at last in my prediction ( hopefully Celestia and Luna will finally help and get some screen time ).

Which is why I'm also partially indifferent to the situation.
But while being a princess means something else in Equestria, it still felt shoehorned in to sell toys, at least in my opinion. This should've happened at the end of the series. They might as well have given the CMC their cutie marks and ended a boring schtick. And while Twilight might act act the same, she most likely won't be treated the same. While I doubt she'll have guards or servants pampering her, she is now on an obvious pedestal above her friends.
I guess I was just disapppointed that the show pulled this card. Very few shows for girls are unique like FiM was. They are either about pink princesses, or shopping and boys. This was one of the few with some actual mythology and relatable characters. I don't even know why companies think princesses are the ultimate cashcow. It'll make a considerable amount of money, yes, but girls won't aitomatically be entertained if you wave princesses in front of them. Both when I was a child and with the kids I've met nowadays, girls' minds are much more ambitious and imaginative than toy companies think. Look at the craze around Monster High, for example. It still has shopping and boys, but that's not why girls love it. They love it for the creative ideas.
Sorry, I'm getting off topic. Don't take this as an argument or anything, I don't think less of someone just because they think differently.
