"Of A Sweet Surrender"

The blustery wind whines through the bare branches of the trees,
Sweeping the barren fields of fallen debris
And causing the blades of grass to fall to their knees,
Surrendering against the force of the gust.

The emphatic wind gives in to the wrath of the clouds
As it makes way for a torrential downfall
Of small, fierce droplets
Pelting the earth with a sever lack of sympathy.

The sun slowly heightens over the eastern horizon
In pursuit of the opposing darkness

Leaving the field covered in dew,
And smelling of a sweet surrender.
