Ripples cascade over the silent water
As I sit on a mossy rock,
Skipping pebbles over my dancing reflection.

A breeze is singing through the trees,
And a shiver runs up my spine
As the oak tree beside me reaches out its spindly fingers
To strangle the sun.

As the whispering wind subsides,
The ripples fold back into the small pond,
Revealing a fish
That crashes through the peaceful silence,
Sending waves of war cascading
Over the picturesque haven

Where I sit,
Seeking solace.
