Wait, you are serious? Because I think "bald Disney princess with cancer" would be taken as mockery rather than compassion.

not the princess with cancer, just bald.
to let little kids know bald can be beautiful too

I'm sure there's at least one classic fairy tale about a girl cutting her hair... because only then it would make sense.

it's a really good idea. little girls with cancer need more hope. it would also be good material to add some depth to a new disney movie. not to mention the excellent PR for anyone who jumped on the project.

it is a good idea. bald princesses. and disney movies do need depth

I agree, it would make little cancer patients feel better. And when kids have cancer it can be scary cause you don't know if you are going to live or die. And these would help them.

Mattel made a special edition barbie for a little girl who had cancer and named the doll Hope.

Here's the link

I bet it's going to cost more than a regular one even though they're cheaping out by not having to give the doll hair.

Ya but you know it's the concept that matters if I had the money when these hit market I would buy some and pass these out around the children's cancer ward.

jLundhArt In reply to RooseveltRedfear [2012-06-27 21:33:01 +0000 UTC]

I'd rather shave my own head and do voluenteer work at a children's hospital (reading them stories and doing various things for entertainment and inspiration) rather than feed a hungry, soulless corporation than just saw a market niche to fill rather than actual human beings in need.

But maybe that's just cynical old me

Actually mothers protested for them to make this doll but I see where your coming from.

Actually I think most people nowadays rely on other people and inanimate things to solve problems for them.

It's hard to talk about cancer with your kids, let's throw a bit of shaped, colorful plastic their way insted of sitting down and talk with them.

Instead of kindly asking your neighbor to trim his hedge, you get a lawyer to sue him for all that he's worth (ruining his economy, family and entire life) because it was getting in the way of your afternoon sun.

Instead of spending time and having fun with your kid, you send them to a 250$/hour shrink for 'attention issues' that makes him feel like a freak and even more alienated by you.

Note that I'm using the word 'you' in an overall sence and not directed at you personally.

I can't tell if this is being sarcastic or not.

Are you in support of this idea or are you criticizing the idea of a black princess, fat princess, and are making fun of the idea of a bald princess to make some sort of extreme example out of the other two?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

PensivePisces In reply to SushiBagel [2012-06-27 22:38:01 +0000 UTC]

wait. i don't know of any fat disney princesses.

SushiBagel In reply to PensivePisces [2012-06-27 22:41:25 +0000 UTC]

There has been a lot of talk about wanting Disney to make a movie about a plus-sized princess.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PensivePisces In reply to SushiBagel [2012-06-27 22:44:56 +0000 UTC]

oh. do you think they will make one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SushiBagel In reply to PensivePisces [2012-06-27 22:49:11 +0000 UTC]

No idea, but anything bigger than a regular disney princess would actually be closer to real skinny human proportions. Go look at official artwork of the princesses and see what I mean.

SushiBagel In reply to hyperster [2012-06-27 20:23:55 +0000 UTC]

Mkay, just from the way you wrote it - it sounded sarcastic to me. But I'm pretty cynical, so don't take it personally.

All of the princesses have beautiful long hair, it might be interesting to see one without.
