INT- Leo’s new bedroom, night time

The walls of his bedroom are decorated, with various anime and super hero posters. His shelves are clusters with lego Star Wars and bathound sets, that Angel brought him.

Leo’s lays awake on his bed. Despite the bed is comfortable, Leo can’t sleep. He’s still getting use to his surroundings of his new home. Besides he feels safer sleeping next to his new mother.

Leo gets up from his bed and makes his way to Angels room.

Appearance wise Leo has also changed. He has put on more weight thanks to regular meals Angel has fed him. His fur has become lighter and silkier, due to regular baths and showers.

INT- Angel’s bedroom

Angel lays in her bed, sitting up against a pillow. She is reading a detective novel.

The moment Angel sees the young wolf approaching her bed, a warm smile appears on her muzzle.

Angel: “Why hello child. Are you having trouble sleeping?”

Leo: “Yeah kinda.”

Angel: “Oh never mind, love. You can sleep next to me, tonight.”

Leo: “Really? Thank you, mum.”

Leo clambers into the bed, before Angel holds him close to her: resting his head on her shoulder and wrapping her arms around him.

Leo is instantly filled with feelings of joy and warmness.

Not long ago, Leo had begun referring to the lioness as “mum.” For Angel, whenever Leo called her “mum” or “mother” it warmed her heart.

Leo had a long road ahead of him for recovery but recognising Angel as a mother figure was a step in the right direction. It would help him move on from his past demons.

Leo: “Are you fine with me sleeping next to you? I’m not too old for this am I?”

Angel: “I don’t mind at all, there were plenty of times when I slept in with my parents when I was around your age.”

But still a question lingers on Leo's mind.

Leo: “As my mother, you’re not going to…..”

The young wolf can’t bring out the words.

Angel: “you can tell me anything hun.”

She now is smiling at him.

Leo: “You’re not going to start taking drugs and drinking, like Kate my old mum did? Sorry I….”

Angel: “Oh sweet heart, there is no need for an apology. You have every right to know. I haven’t drank in years, neither have I taken any substances.”

That was all Leo needed to hear. She smiles reassuringly at Leo, who lets out a small yawn. Angel begins to hum as she him holds him close to her. In a short amount of time Leo is sound asleep.

Angel: “Sleep well my son.”

She kisses him on the forehead before she drifts into a peaceful slumber.

Both mother and son sleep peacefully beside each other happy and content.
