I was building myself up in the crime-world, and it was apparent that trusting your colleagues wasn't easy when just about everyone you worked with was ready to kill you. One night at my hideout in the docks , I was talking with some goons I hired when I saw something running around. I walked over to see a kid hiding, she looked like she hadn't eaten in days, so I just gave her a sandwich and told her to find some place to stay, as she definitely wouldn't want to hang around here. She scarfed down the sandwich as I turned to my associates, who said they were looking for a pay-raise. I shrugged and said I was paying them the most I could, but they were a little more interested in taking MY cut...and my head.

After a tense fight, one of them was left standing, and I was ready to put a hole in his head, until I saw a brick fly at his head, narrowly missing him. He and I turned to see the kid again, trying to hit the goon. Before either of us could react, she threw another brick at him, hitting him in the head. I simply thanked her and dragged the bodies to the ocean. The kid tried to help, but I told her she'd need gloves for something like that. Afterwards, I headed back inside, and the kid tried to follow. I reminded her that she should find another place to live. She didn't even talk, just sitting outside.

Didn't this kid have a family? Seeing as she wasn't fed well, and wearing a sack, that question clearly answered itself. I saw that it was starting to rain, and I looked out the window to see the kid shivering outside. I tried to ignore it...for 5 seconds before I simply sighed and walked out. I told her to follow me, and she complied, hiding under my jacket. I walked by a store, seeing a pink umbrella in the display window. One broken window later, I gave the kid the umbrella, and figured she needed a name. Seeing as she didn't and wouldn't say what her name was, or if she even had one to begin with, I decided to nickname her Neo, after an ice cream she looked like. She seemed to be okay with that name...
