I recall watching The Super Mario Bros. Super Show on Netflix as a kid, and seeing teasers for...this. Based on what I could find of this show, I think Mario drew the longer straw in cartoon adaptations. (Until Super Mario World anyway) I looked into an infamous cartoonist (Who I won't be naming) that said this show rocked and that Nintendo wrongly changed things that were only a thing in the cartoons, like "Mario has to be an Italian stereotype, he's not from Brooklyn"(We'll ignore that even the cartoon version had a lot of stereotypical Italian traits), "Peach is a dumb blonde and can only fight using her girly emotions."(She only had those because she was affected by the Vibe Sceptar. Later games like 3D World and Mario + Rabbids kinda invalidate this argument, hell, my bro theorized that she lets herself get captured by Bowser because she's bored and, unlike other villains, he usually has standards), "Samus needs to go from green hair to blonde and fight in high-heels"(The Justin Bailey thing was an alternate costume, and Smash Bros. made the heels awesome by making them rocket boots), and "Link can't look threatening. He has to look effiminate to appeal to anime fangirls and Zelda isn't his girlfriend anymore."

First things first, Link was actually meant to look androgynous so players could better imprint themselves onto him. As for Zelda being his girlfriend, I said before that it varies whether they have romantic chemistry or not, and even then, it's left up to the player to decide if they have a thing going on or not (Many point to Skyward Sword as the most romantic version of Link and Zelda; funny enough, they're chronologically the first of the two) and I seriously don't see the chemistry between DiC's version of the two. Link's always trying to get in her pants and Zelda's always nagging him. It's Ash and Misty if they were adults and somehow more annoying with each other. And DiC Link may be the least threatening Link out there. As a guy who's played BOTW, that Link had plenty of goofy moments and still came off as intimidating. I hear Twilight Princess is pretty scary, and based on what I saw of that Link in Smash Bros., I can buy it. Hell, by virtue of just looking horrifying, CDI Link is more threatening. And he wasn't as creepy to Zelda. Yes, he was a colossal idiot, the fact that he saved a whole kingdom is nothing short of a miracle, and his response to Zelda shooting down his offer for a kiss was a moronic "I won!" but that's better than trying to swing into her room on a rope for a kiss. Also, he never said "Well, excuse me, Princess" in a tone that sounds like an angsty teenager arguing with his sister. I forgot what I was arguing about at this point and my mind just devolved to rambling about CDI Link. The point I'm trying to make is Incel Culture is no laughing matter. Pretty sure that was the point I was getting to.
